An experienced Enterprise Architect and Principal Solutions Architect with a proven track record of leading high-performance technical teams delivering coherent, innovative technology solutions in fast-paced complicated IT environments. Mike enjoys public speaking and has presented at numerous conferences, roundtables and internal events covering IT Strategy, Innovation and Emerging Technologies. Mike draws on his extensive IT experience in his current role as Chief Innovation Officer at Xtrable, an organisation that will remove the barriers and reduce the friction in placing disabled and neuro diverse talent in meaningful corporate roles.
Mike has 30 years of senior IT experience across Medical, Financial Services, Insurance, Legal and Travel sectors. He started his IT career designing Patient Administration Systems before moving roles to the Head Architecture role at Travelex, then the Head of Innovation at Compare The Market and the Head Solution Architect at Thomas Cook.
Mike has close family connections to Special Needs and Autism and is a member of the British Psychology Society, he has dedicated his personal time to understanding autistic spectrum disorder and applying this academic study to real-world situations including voluntary work for the likes of Princes Trust and local SEN groups. He obtained a First-class Honours Degree in Psychology in 2016 and has published works for OUPS.
With a history of innovative thinking and managing start-ups, in 2005 Mike and a business partner refurbished an ex-military wind tunnel in Bedford, converting it to the world’s largest indoor skydiving facility with a turnover of £2.4M. Mike held a Board position in Bodyflight Ltd before starting an IT consultancy company Kader Technology Ltd.
